Since I'm on crutches for the next who knows how long maybe its a good thing I can't fight, but Ed is just as spooked. Mostly because I'm on medical leave from the field (at least till I'm off the crutches) till at least next month. But I should be back in tech sometime next week (after Phoenix) so things are slowly getting back to semi normal. Working via laptop till at least next week if anyone needs me for anything, phone and email being the best bets. [/filter] [Filter: All Personnel Minus Heads] That cyber kick in the pants? It worked, I've faced worse than a mere mugger so I'm smiling again and the pity wagon has left the building. But being on crutches during re-evalution? Why is Ed having a sick feeling about this? I'm staying with Michael if anyone needs me in the meantime. [/filter] [Filter: Jet Black] Can you keep an eye on Ein while I'm in Arizona? Should only be gone a few days, combo of nanotech at Arizona State and what could be the missing piece of the puzzle that is my past. | 10:39 pm | [Filter: All Personnel Minus Heads] I deserved what happened over the weekend, I deserved to get beaten senseless over 50 bucks. But short version is trashed ankle and several bruised ribs plus a mild concussion from the landing in the elevator and a few other problems. Still can't take a wiff of peanut sauce without freaking out and well I'm propped up and on a ton of pain meds. Turns out I had both peanut sauce and slupree dumped onto me... [/filter] [Filter: Medical] Just how long am I going to be out of action in terms of field? But since the nanotech case in Arizona is all going to be done on computers I'll be ok to go with help? As for tech I can do almost everything else via computer from hacking to research. [/filter] [Filter: All Personnel] Due to my ankle and being on crutches (among other things) I'm using Ein as my message service, I trained him to do this while in Europe. So anything I can't do over the computer he'll bring people files and printouts, I do have treats if anyone would like some to give him, just come by tech and bring a baggie. | 5:58 pm | [Filter: Private] I think the worst might be over, spent the last 2 days in evaluation induced hell and somehow survived. One day of having a shadow while in tech and one day of being followed around. Granted being followed around Princeton while looking into that demon den was not my idea of a good time but maybe now I can relax a little and maybe slip back into the Underground. But part of me does wish I could slip into Cardiff for a day, it'll be a year next month since Tosh died and I still miss her. She was more than an awesome source and mentor, she became a sister to me. Plus I got my best lead into my birth family, first decent one since leaving the UK to boot. Think I'll slip into town and give this a look, plus after the last couple of days I deserve a Slurpee at the very least along with a trip to Wong's Noodle House, I can smell the peanut sauce already! [/filter] [Filter: All Personnel] Demon den at Princeton was another false alarm, drama club doing "Dante's Inferno" but with puppets, someone freaked out. What is it with me and the false alarm demon dens over the last month or so anyway? But it looks like the nanotech in Arizona is next on my plate, just emailed some sources back in England just in case this is the same thing that went around Cardiff and Oxford last year. The ironic part: its at Arizona State in Phoenix, the place I've been away from for almost 6 years. Maybe I can finally get some answers about my past in the process. This will either be a good idea or the facts turn ugly in a hurry. Either way I figured R&D would be game to get a peek at this nanotech so game? :) :) :) :) As for the other night it was just what I needed and as for the other part: I survived but I'm thinking a trip to 7-11 is in order, won't be gone too long and will bring a Slurpee back for you. | 2:26 pm | [Filter: Michael Lee] Remember those emails from England? Well this whole mess of Reevaluation and Reassessment means one thing to me, Grey is delighting in putting agents through hell! The month prior to my leaving was the worst, it was like people were scared and well my emails from that period said it all, I wanted out and he made sure that last month was pure hell. Got room for me and Ein? I found a bug in my kitchen via my powers and I'm too spooked to check the Underground. But I'm faking normal within the building, I'm too scared to let my guard down (you are a major expection, its total trust for us). But I'm actually thinking about taking Westley up on that case in Phoenix since its 2 things: it would get me out of here and its also near where I got dumped as a kid (so maybe finding a few answers about my past). Maybe we can team up or something? (I'm more worried about you right now!). But right now I'm way too angry at Grey and too spooked to think straight so I need to be grounded emotionally speaking. Actually and I know this is rare coming from me but I would love to toast his hard drive. Not sure how much more I can take... Be careful Michael, the fact we're hackers might make us targets. As for others I would suggest you speak with Ianto Jones at Torchwood, DCI Jane Tennison in London (I know he has been a thorn in her side for ages), Sarah Walker with the CIA (just metion me, I lent her a hand on a few cases last year) and my guy with the BAU Dr.Reid (I met him via Garcia, he's an amazing listener. Just metion me if needed). I'll take my people within NCIS and the Jeffersonian, Patrick Jane at CBI and Shawn Spencer plus my freelance guy (very off the record but he blows me away everytime). I also know there are hackers that left around the same time I did, one went to Japan and the other to Alice Springs. Be careful Alice: you, Lady and Jacqui are among the few from Bristol I still trust. My offer of an open ear stands. :) [/filter] |

| 2:58 am | [Filter: All Personnel] Demon den at Yale was a false alarm, turns out it was the drama club working on a new play and someone freaked over the costumes. But the rumors of a spirit in the Phi Beta Phi house are legit, but as I noted in my report she's a guardian spirit keeping an eye on the house along with the sisters and is actually a former Phi Beta Phi sister from the 1950's. With my graduate work I'll stop by the house ever so often to check on her but she's better off keeping an eye on the house (and left alone). But this has me thinking, maybe there is a link between the guardian spirits at the various schools along the East Coast? Because Oxford had several ghosts of this sort around campus and one was a regular in the computer science building (student from the 80's that died in a car accident). I smell a between cases project :) Next up: a tag team hack with Alice Springs against those zombies that think Wi-Fi is a new toy. I have a feeling its the same bunch that has been going after me on and off for about a year and a half now. While I was away someone left a note about having a hard drive looked at, anyone since to be honest I could not really read the writing? The candy bowl is now filled and I have fresh treats for Ein (let me know if he's not met you? I like to have him sniff people so he knows people are nice). [/filter] Plumbing crisis is fixed! It was less nasty than first feared thankfully (it was just a clogged drain in my sink and old pipes, older building). As for school my one class is online and starts up week after next, its in programming. |

Why do I have a feeling its simply another case of drama club doing an unusual play and it leads to someone freaking out? Why do I think this? It happened 4 times while I was at Oxford. Plus tommorow is also a reunion lunch with an Oxford classmate, before anyone gets nosy he was only a friend from within the computer science program and graduated a year before me. He's in the area on business and somehow got wind of me being at Yale. So anybody need anything from New Haven? Also taking requests for the candy jar :) I'll also volunteer if anyone needs a sparring partner for swordfighting, fenced while in school. | 2:55 am | Filter: Michael Lee (unhackable by others) I made this hacker proof since as you reminded me all those emails again if anyone got me its you. It started back in December when I graduated Oxford and beyond my host mom and her son I had no family. Sure I laughed it off and blamed airfare but I know I may never find what I'm looking for. With recent events and the fact I had to face Spike after almost 5 years it just made me want to search even harder to complete the puzzle that is Edward. Everytime something like a funeral happens its a slap to my soul: its the worlds way of saying I'm alone and don't have a blood family. But as you reminded me I have a mini family via cyberspace and from my travels, but why am I still feeling like I deserve to feel this way? I'm pretty sure my emails from that period made no sense but somehow you pulled me through that weekend. But right now there are 3 little Ed's running around: the Ed I let the world see, the Ed online and the Ed I don't let many see (you being one of the few that do get to see her). But you know what scares me more? Never getting any answers to why I was given up in the first place. Actual reason for this entry now that the weird is out of my brain: free for dinner ASAP? We're overdue for some fun beyond the office and I think Ein is starting to wonder about you and me :) Plus I have the secure net line so we can keep tabs on the Underground. Besides: someone has to stay on my case about things like my fast food habit and the fact I need to actually unpack those boxes and find the coffee maker ;) Sort of OT but you asked once: as to how I met Dr.Mallard he also has corgis. We trade stories about our dogs and he's become one of my go to medical sources along the way. |

Just sent off emails to a couple of contacts within DC and a source in Wales and hopefully will hear back soon. As for the animal hunch I'll post a general feeler within the next day or so since I've talked to a few people already. Waiting to hear back from a few of my sources overseas and via the web. More once I hear back. [/filter] [Filter: Michael Lee] Next hack: I'm gunning for Spain, my source in Madrid said something about this group that might be linked to recent events. Its worth a look. Personal matters: you know why I'm not taking things so great. Everytime something major happens its just a reminder that I was basically dumped in the orphans home. The year I spent on the road after high school was the best thing because I gained an unoffical family along with meeting you while in England. But first everything with Spike and now this, just not my few weeks by the looks (I think you still have my email from England when Spike showed up). I'm still hooked into the web via my powers in case of urgent emails from the Underground and my new source metioned how quiet its been on his end (he's a shrink and he's only 3 years older than me, based near DC). Anything new on your end (plus my source in Mexico City metioned an outbreak so email from that area might be slow). I'm also thinking about going blonde, its my way of reminding myself I'm still me and its always via wash out dye (so it never lasts too long). Want to go out for Chinese tommorow? | 5:43 pm | [Filter: All Personnel] Another all night hack awaits, those tech demons are not giving up without a fight. But this time I'm armed plus tag teaming with hackers in both England and Japan. The ongoing hunch is I'm the target since I stared this bunch down a few years ago. All our files have been emailed to Westley as we speak. But I'm nursing a hunch: its not the Wi-Fi access they are after and just waiting to hear from a couple of sources in Japan to unravel more. But in a way I love all night hacking: after all its what I do best :) As for the various missing items: I'm more than willing to rig up webcams to see if whatever this is can be caught on camera. I've also set up a decoy via some of Ein's old chew toys (all since replaced due to the move so I won't lose anything) for tonight. But something just feels fishy: the underground is abuzz over something and I can't explain any of it! I've got sources all over the place from both freelancing and now if anyone needs info. Otherwise I'm offically IT so if anyone has a computer problem just give me a jingle! [/Filter] [Filter: Jet Black] I'm hearing buzz from the underground, can't explain it but will keep you updated. | 1:27 pm | [Filter: All Personnel] Spent the better part of last night ankle deep in a long distance hack for the Xi'An branch since those Scottish tech demons decided to hack their way into Toyko over the weekend. I miss a good hack and well getting to settle an old score with those demons is a perk, they went after me for some reason (I think it was from that white hat job in Germany back in '07) but all is fine and Toyko has free and clear wi-fi again. But I'm in contact with people at Xi'An just in case of another attack. Confession: I kinda miss the thrill of the hack. Last night reminded me of the year I spent between Arizona and England and the thrill of going after cyber bandits. Plus those days were before I knew about being a technopath and hacking without leaving cyber footprints. That year taught me a lot and at the same time let me find myself, hard to explain but getting away from the orphans home was one piece of the puzzle. And before anyone gets on my case about all night hacking: I've done it so many times in the past like a cyber chess match that lasted for the better part of a week (this was to catch the mastermind of another crime). But I know with my little problem I have to be careful, this all nighter meant not much sleep in my case. So anyone need a hacker anytime soon? [/Filter] I got a lead on an apartment between here and Yale, only a 15 minute drive on both ends so its promising along with the local housing. I've got the hotel room till the end of next week so I should be somewhere more stable within the next few days give or take another snag or two. As for Ein he's already making friends! I was worried us coming back would not be good but Ein is doing great and well he does love new friends and lots of attention.
